Enforcement
Meter aides monitor meters from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily. At other times, meters are monitored by police officers who can issue tickets for parking violations.
$10 parking tickets may be issued for parking meter violations. After $100 worth of tickets, your vehicle may be booted by the Waterbury Police Department. An orange sticker will be placed on the window of the vehicle providing the owner a phone number to contact regarding their vehicle. You can contact the Parking Division at 203.574.6721
Meter feeding is not allowed and is monitored by the meter aides. If you need long term parking, it is recommended that you park in the municipal parking garages.
Safety
The Parking Authority has received a federal grant used to install cameras on the first floors of the Buckingham and Scovill Street garages. These cameras are maintained by the Parking Division office and the Waterbury Police Department. Future plans will include installation to the Prospect Street Garage. The street garages are continually monitored by security personnel. New lighting has been installed through a CL&P program in all garages. The Waterbury Parking Authority is committed to full time maintenance.
Do you want a security escort to your car? Contact the Municipal Parking Garage booth attendant during their hours of operations.
